I've driven it both ways in a car in the winter; have a buddy who did it last summer on an 2001 Indian with a sidecar that I can put you in touch with. Also, there is a group of Goldwingers that go every year that you might be able to join. It is all paved through the Yukon now. Seattle to Fairbanks takes 4 8 hours days and 1 12 hour day.
